Forton is a civil parish in the Wyre District of the county of Lancashire near the Forest of Bowland. It is near the A6 road, between the city of Lancaster and the town of Garstang. It has one school, Forton Primary School, several churches and one pub, the New Holly.

Lancaster (Forton) services is a motorway service station near Forton, between junctions 32 and 33 of the M6 motorway. The nearest city is Lancaster, about seven miles (11 km) to the north. The station is operated by Moto.

The parish has 24 listed buildings, all of which are designated at Grade II. The parish contains the village of Forton, and is otherwise mainly rural. The Lancaster Canal passes through the parish, and two bridges crossing it are listed. Also passing through the parish is the M6 motorway, with the tower and former restaurant at Lancaster (Forton) Services being listed. The other listed buildings include houses and cottages, farmhouses and farm buildings, churches and associated structures, a medieval cross base, milestones, boundary stones, and a former school.
